Schedule a Customer Service Inspection (CSI)
Per Texas State Law and TCEQ Regulations, all new connections to a public water system require a Customer Service Inspection to be performed before permanent water service is established. These inspections are critical to the safety and quality of the public drinking water supply.
In accordance with State Law, Seeger Water’s licensed CSI Inspectors look for a few things during a CSI Inspection:
Compliance with Texas’ Cross Connection Control Rules (TAC 30.290) - all non-potable systems connected to the domestic mainline (i.e. lawn irrigation, swimming pool fill, etc) MUST have an approved backflow prevention assembly or method.
Compliance with both State and Federal laws regarding lead copper content. Generally speaking, all plumbing needs to be lead-free copper and flux/solder, or avoid copper altogether.
Compliance with local PWS (public water system) rules and regulations.
CSI Inspections vary by water utility, but here is a base price structure:
Texas Water Company - $145.00 residential, $185.00 commercial
San Antonio Water System - $145.00 residential, $185.00 commercial
Austin Water - $165.00 residential, $265.00 commercial
