Every great company starts with a story — ours begins in 1986, with a man, a shovel, and a dream.
That man was Don Seeger Sr., who founded Total Irrigation in San Antonio, Texas. At the time, irrigation meant long days in the sun, digging trenches by hand, and solving problems one leak at a time. But what set Don apart wasn’t just his craftsmanship — it was his character. From the start, he built his business on the values that still define Seeger Water today: honesty, reliability, and pride in a job done right.
Through the late 1980s and 1990s, Total Irrigation became a trusted name in the growing communities of South Texas. Homeowners relied on Don not only to install their sprinklers, but to care for their landscapes as if they were his own. As neighborhoods expanded and the San Antonio area flourished, his reputation for quality service and integrity took root — one yard, one system, and one handshake at a time.
A Family Legacy Takes Root
In 2007, twelve years after his son DJ was born, Don renamed the business Seeger & Son’s Sprinkler Company. The name reflected more than a generational change — it marked the beginning of a legacy. It symbolized a father’s belief in hard work, a son’s passion for innovation, and a shared vision to build something enduring together.
Side by side, Don and DJ began expanding their focus from small residential systems to large-scale commercial and municipal water projects. They shared a deep respect for water — not only as a business but as a responsibility. What began in local neighborhoods was growing into a company with a broader mission: to help communities across Texas use water wisely, sustainably, and efficiently.
From Backyard Systems to Statewide Impact
As droughts and water restrictions became a growing challenge in Texas, the Seeger family recognized the need for smarter, more efficient solutions. Under DJ’s leadership, and with Don’s decades of experience guiding the company’s craftsmanship, Seeger & Son’s evolved in 2018 into Seeger Water — a full-service water management company serving all of Texas.
Seeger Water became known for its expertise in:
Irrigation system design and management for residential, commercial, and golf course applications.
Pump and filtration systems, including advanced solutions like Amiad filtration for invasive species mitigation.
Plumbing and mechanical services for infrastructure and utilities.
Smart irrigation technologies and central control systems that reduce waste and save millions of gallons of water annually.
What started as a local irrigation business has grown into a multi-state operation that designs and maintains complex systems protecting communities, ecosystems, and industries across the southern United States.
