2. Installation & Commissioning
- Our certified technicians install the unit, ensure proper orientation and make sure all controlling equipment (valves, gauges, pressure differential sensors) is configured correctly. 
- We perform an initial commissioning: flush the system, verify differential pressures, set automatic back-flush or self-clean cycles (for automatic models). 
- We’ll train your staff on how to monitor the filter, recognize warning signs of plugging or bypass, and optimise the self-clean schedule if applicable. Amiad’s self-cleaning screen filters use unique suction-scanning technology and trigger cleaning only as needed, saving water, labour and energy. 
3. Preventive Maintenance & Service Contracts
- Filters perform a critical job—removing sand, silt, organics and other debris that can wreak havoc on pumps, valves, drip emitters and sprinkler equipment. Without proper maintenance filter performance declines. 
- We offer scheduled maintenance visits: inspect the filter, clean or replace screens/discs/media as required, measure pressure drop across the filter, check the back-flush function and ensure the system is operating efficiently. 
- If you have automatic models, we verify the controller settings and update firmware or connectivity (if applicable) for remote monitoring. 
- Our service contracts are tailored (quarterly, semi-annual, annual) depending on water quality, debris load and system criticality. 
4. Emergency Call-Out & Troubleshooting
- If you experience sudden rises in differential pressure, bypass events, drop in flow, or other filter-related issues we’re available for rapid response. 
- We carry common Amiad spare parts (screens, discs, flush valves, controller components) so we can often restore functionality quickly and minimise downtime.

Case Study - Zebra Mussels in Lake Travis
When a golf course and residential community on Lake Travis began suffering pump failures and reduced water flow caused by invasive zebra mussels, Seeger Water was brought in to design a sustainable filtration solution. Our team evaluated the site’s intake and pump station conditions and recommended a dual-filter configuration using two Amiad SAF-X 3000 automatic self-cleaning filters. The system was engineered to remove zebra mussels and their larvae before they reached the pumps and irrigation network, ensuring uninterrupted water delivery for both the golf course and surrounding homes.
Unlike traditional chemical or thermal control methods, Seeger Water’s approach focused on biological safety and ecological balance. We worked closely with an independent biologist to confirm that our filtration system effectively removed zebra mussels without harming native aquatic life — including fish, frogs, snakes, and beneficial algae.
